Textured granite boulders up to 10 meters high await you in a fabulous wild setting. Dozens of unclimbed boulders are within an easy day hike of the homestead and located just above tree line. Some gems are found hulking in the boreal forest or near the rushing creek. Many more impressive blocks are well above tree line in a high mountain valley.
We were surprised by the size and quality of the boulders when we moved here, and have been continually astounded at the quantity as we explore further into the mountains. Whether you are interested in an afternoon of mellow bouldering as part of your stay or making the untouched rock the focus of your visit, you will appreciate the quality of these giant erratics in awe-inspiring formation.
Boulders in the lower valley are located an easy, mile and a half hike away. The boulders in the upper valley, miles up in the mountains, are easily accessed on an overnight camping trip or a horse supported trek. Let our horses pack the gear and the beer while we wander in wonder and explore new lines. Wildlife abounds. Endless summer days mean lots of climbing opportunity.
